How many white students were enrolled in Wilkes County schools during 2022-23 school year?

There were 409 white students enrolled in Wilkes County school in the 2022-23 school year, 5.8% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Data showed that Wilkes County welcomed 1,187 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 34.5% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the four schools in Wilkes County, Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 119 students.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
