Augusta Transit resumes limited operations with diversions on several routes

Augusta Transit has announced the resumption of its services with limited capacity starting Monday, October 7, 2024. The services include fixed route, Paratransit/ADA, and Richmond Transit options.

The transit routes will operate as follows: Route 1 Blue Line/Walton Way and Route 2 Gray Line/West Parkway will not be in service. Regular service with diversions will be available for Route 3 Gold Line/East Augusta, Route 4 Purple Line/Turpin Hill, Route 5 Green Line/Washington Rd, Route 6 Brown Line/Gordon Hwy, Route 8 Orange Line/Barton Chapel, and Route 9 Red Line/Lumpkin Rd. Meanwhile, Route 7 Pink Line/Augusta Mall will also not be in service.

Paratransit/ADA and Richmond Transit will offer limited services. To reserve rides and determine eligibility for these services, individuals can contact (706) 821-1819 for Paratransit/ADA or (706) 821-1497 for Richmond Transit.

"We are working to restore transit services as quickly as possible," a statement from Augusta Transit read. For those seeking information on routes and schedules, assistance is available at (706) 821-1719 from Monday to Saturday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Augusta Transit reaffirmed its commitment "to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors in Richmond County through the provision of sustainable and safe transit services."
