Augusta resumes operations after Hurricane Helene

City of Augusta operations will resume on October 8, 2024, following disruptions caused by Hurricane Helene. The Judicial Center and court operations are set to reopen on October 9, 2024.

"Our emergency response teams have been working around the clock to ensure the safety of residents, and we are now focused on resuming normal city operations," a statement from the city said. Residents in need of support are encouraged to contact Augusta 311 via the MyAugusta 311 app or at 706-821-2300.

The city expressed commitment to its residents' well-being during recovery efforts. "We extend our deepest gratitude to our employees, emergency responders, and all residents for their resilience and cooperation during this challenging time."

Augusta is located along the Savannah River, about 150 miles east of Atlanta. It is Georgia's second-largest city and hosts the Masters Tournament as well as the U.S. Army's Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Eisenhower.
