The Augusta Utilities Department (AUD) has announced the lifting of a boil water advisory for residents and businesses in Augusta – Richmond County. The advisory, which was issued on September 30, 2024, has been rescinded following comprehensive water quality testing. The tests confirmed that the tap water now meets all regulatory standards and is safe for consumption.

Residents who were affected by the advisory are advised to flush their lines by running cold water through their faucets for about two minutes. This step is recommended to remove any air from the lines. "We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience," stated AUD.

For further inquiries or concerns, residents can contact 311 via the mobile app. Media personnel interested in more information are encouraged to reach out to Leadra Collins at 706-823-4399 or [email protected].

Local news outlets will continue to provide updates, and residents can also stay informed through AUD's social media channels on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
