Fake threats statewide under investigation

At this time, Columbia County School District Police are in contact with local and state law enforcement agencies as they continue their investigation into the hoax. Safety of students and staff is a top priority and School Resource Officers and staff across the district are maintaining a high level of awareness to ensure students continue to learn in a safe environment.

School operations will continue as normal, however, out of an abundance of caution, local law enforcement are providing increased patrols in and around school campuses.

This message is not intended to alarm, only to keep our parents informed. No further action is needed at this time. If a direct threat is reported, parents will be notified. Threats of any nature are not tolerated, and will be investigated fully to ensure safety of students and staff.

Please report any suspicious activity to a school administrator, School Resource Officer, or by contacting the Columbia County School District anonymous tip hotline at 706-541-3600.
