GREENBRIER HIGH SCHOOL: NSTB Vernier Technology Award Program

Award

Greenbrier High School issued the following announcement on May 3.

Mrs. McDowell received a $5500 through the NSTA Vernier Technology Award program. She received a $3000 Vernier credit, $1000 awarded to her which she asked to be added to the equipment credit so she could get more equipment for her students, and $1500 towards traveling to the NSTA National Conference.

Mrs. McDowell wrote a lesson that incorporates Vernier probes for Human Anatomy and Physiology. Students design a physical exam using the various probes to either check the health of an individual for participation in a sport or a physical to assess patient health to fight the obesity epidemic. Students will also use the probes for other labs throughout various units of study.
