Savannah Chatham County Public School System issued the following announcement on Feb. 14.
Filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is one of the most important steps students and their families can take to pay for college. The FAFSA is the financial aid form used to access grants, federal student loans, and work-study funds. Each year, more than $24 BILLION dollars of financial aid goes unclaimed because many students and parents feel anxious about filling out the application. To ease those fears and put anxious feelings to rest, GEAR UP Georgia at Savannah State University has teamed up with The Scholarship Academy to host a Drive-In FAFSA Completion event. You will drive to the location, park in the designated area, stay inside your vehicle and someone from the Financial Assistance Team will come to your vehicle to assist with the completion of the FAFSA.
