80 percent of applicants to Augusta University were admitted for fall 2018

At Augusta University, 80 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 65 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Augusta enrolled 8,458 students in fall 2018, including 5,463 in undergraduate and 2,995 in graduate programs, data shows. 9.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

94 percent of undergraduates are residents of Georgia, and 5 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (52 percent) and Black or African American (24 percent).

The school admitted 80 percent of the 3,054 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 44 percent enrolled.
