One Hispanic student was enrolled at Warren County Middle School for the 2024-25 school year, which remained unchanged from the prior year, reports the Georgia Department of Education.
The school’s data indicated a total of 155 enrolled students in the 2024-25 school year. Hispanic students constituted just 1% of the student population, marking them as one of the least represented groups at the school.
The school operates as part of the Warren County School District, headquartered in Warrenton.
Of the three schools in the district, Freeman Elementary School reported the highest number of Hispanic students, enrolling two in the 2024-25 school year.
According to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report, Georgia’s public schools educated over 1.7 million students. Most students were in elementary grades, which had 787,206 students (45.9%), while middle schools had 388,733 (22.7%) and high schools reported 539,092 (31.4%).
Chronic absenteeism has persisted as a challenge in Georgia schools following the pandemic. In 2024, 20.7% of students missed at least 10% of school days, the Georgia Department of Education reported. The state agency addressed the issue through launching an attendance dashboard, promoting public awareness, and providing targeted support to regions with greater need to improve attendance rates.
In 2025, state lawmakers passed new legislation updating Georgia’s attendance laws. The updates prohibit expulsion solely for absenteeism, add reporting requirements, and align with initiatives that let students earn diplomas through alternative routes.
By 2026, Georgia recorded an average student-to-teacher ratio near 14:1, better than the national average of 15:1.
