Applications for Leadership Augusta's Class of 2026 are now open, with the deadline set for April 18th. Founded in 1980 by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Augusta aims to educate and inspire leaders to strengthen the community. Participants will gain insight into regional achievements, challenges, and opportunities while building connections across cultural and economic lines. Sarah Childers will chair the adult Class of 2026, with Taylor Lamb as Co-Chair.
Sarah Childers, a graduate from the Class of 2021, is currently Director of Destination Experiences at Destination Augusta and Assistant Film Liaison for Film Augusta. She has been involved in initiatives like the Authentic Augusta Experience collection and the Augusta Coffee Trail. Childers holds a degree from California Baptist University.
Taylor Lamb from the Class of 2024 is Director of Marketing & Creative Services at Augusta University. He previously served as Digital Content Manager and Director of Athletic Media Relations. Lamb has degrees from Georgia College & State University and Georgia Southern University.
Youth Leadership Augusta's revamped Class of 2026 is also accepting applications until April 26th. This program targets rising juniors and seniors to develop young leaders through educational experiences that foster leadership skills and community awareness. Dr. Katrina Hutchins and Ashley Whitaker have been named Chairs for this class.
Dr. Katrina Hutchins, from the Class of 2025, is Founder & President of Re-Source Solutions, focusing on organizational growth and leadership development. She holds a Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University.
Ashley Whitaker also belongs to the Class of 2025 with over fifteen years in nonprofit marketing experience. She serves as Director at Columbia County School District Foundation and has led community engagement efforts at Shepeard Blood Center.
