Congressman Rick W. Allen of Georgia's 12th District has put forward a resolution to designate March 2025 as "National March into Literacy Month." This initiative aims to emphasize the importance of early literacy in children's education. Congressman Allen shared his motivation for this proposal, stating:
"Studies show that children who are not reading proficiently by the third grade are four times less likely to graduate from high school on time. This highlights the necessity of intervening early in a child's life and instilling a love and passion for reading."
As an active member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, Allen has consistently supported efforts to improve childhood literacy. He expressed his dedication by saying:
