Augusta government offices announce closures for Veterans Day

In Augusta, Georgia, most government offices will close on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day. The following details outline the operating hours for key services:

The Augusta Municipal Building will not be open on November 11 but will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, November 12.

Augusta 311 Center will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the holiday.

Public transportation services including Augusta Transit, Paratransit, and Richmond Transit will maintain their regular schedules on November 11.

All offices of Augusta Utilities, including Customer Service locations, will be closed for the day. They are set to reopen with standard hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 12. For non-billing emergencies during this period, residents can contact the emergency line at 706-842-3060.

The Augusta Landfill and garbage collection services will continue their usual operations without interruption on Veterans Day.

The Parks and Recreation Department's administrative office along with all community centers, swim centers, Newman Tennis Center, athletic offices, and rental offices will be closed on November 11. Despite these closures, public parks and tennis courts remain accessible from dawn until dusk. Normal operating hours for these facilities will resume the following day.
