The Augusta Fire/EMA Department, in partnership with the Augusta-Richmond County Tax Assessor’s Office, has initiated a city-wide effort to assess property damage following Hurricane Helene. The departments are working together to evaluate the impact of the hurricane across Augusta.

These assessments aim to fulfill requirements set by GEMA and FEMA, documenting the extent of the damage without being tied to any financial assistance programs.

Residents affected by the hurricane are encouraged to use a newly launched self-reporting website. This tool is accessible through the City of Augusta’s main page at www.augustaga.gov or via a direct link provided on the site. By utilizing this resource, residents can assist in streamlining the assessment process and speeding up documentation efforts.

For media inquiries regarding this initiative, Chiquita Richardson can be contacted at 706-825-1076.
