Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Augusta has temporarily halted its recycling collection services. The storm has left behind considerable debris, leading many residents to mix trash with recyclables due to limited disposal options. This mixture complicates the processing of recyclable materials.

The suspension is intended to allow city crews to focus on clearing roads, restoring power, and addressing safety concerns across the community. Residents are encouraged to hold onto their recyclables if possible and await further updates regarding the resumption of recycling services.
