U.S. Congressman Rick W. Allen of Georgia's 12th District expressed his excitement as Plant Vogtle's Nuclear Unit 4 officially entered commercial operation. In a statement following the announcement by Southern Company and other partners, Congressman Allen highlighted the significance of this achievement for Georgia's energy landscape.

"Today marks a significant milestone in Georgia's clean energy future. With Unit 4 now at 100% capacity and fully operational, Plant Vogtle is officially the largest nuclear power station in the country—providing safe, reliable, emission-free energy to consumers and businesses across the Peach State and beyond," Congressman Allen stated.

Having closely followed the construction progress of Unit 3 and Unit 4, Congressman Allen emphasized the remarkable nature of seeing the project come to fruition. "This historic achievement has been years in the making and proves that America can still do big things," he added.

Proud of his district's role in shaping America's nuclear energy future, Congressman Allen extended his congratulations to all the entities involved in the success of Plant Vogtle. "I am proud that Georgia’s 12th District is leading America’s nuclear energy future, and I congratulate Southern Company, Oglethorpe Power Company, MEAG Power, Dalton Utilities, and all partners involved in this tremendous success," he concluded.
