Augusta, Georgia – In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Masters Tournament, Augusta, Georgia’s Traffic Engineering Division has released a comprehensive traffic plan to assist residents and visitors in navigating the changes in traffic patterns during the event.

The 2024 Masters Tournament Traffic Plan includes various measures to ensure smooth traffic flow, including the implementation of a new traffic signal and lane adjustments. According to a statement from the division, "The new traffic signal at Washington Road and River Ridge Drive will begin controlling traffic mid-morning." Additionally, "A U-turn lane will be installed on Riverwatch Parkway at Topgolf Way and two westbound lanes will be shifted to the right to make room."

To provide real-time updates and assistance, the Augusta National Golf Club has introduced a new QR code that can be used with navigation apps. The QR code is designed to offer parking and traffic information promptly. "Use the Augusta National Golf Club’s new QR code that syncs up with your preferred navigation app to provide real-time parking and traffic updates," urged the authorities.

In anticipation of the tournament, certain traffic adjustments will be made starting April 1, 2024. "The outside left turn lane (westbound to southbound) on Riverwatch Parkway will be closed for traffic safety reasons throughout the entire tournament," stated officials. Additionally, "The outside left turn lane on Alexander Drive at Washington Road (southbound to eastbound) will be repainted and converted to a through lane for the duration of the Masters Tournament."

Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay informed by signing up for Augusta, Georgia’s Traffic Alerts on the city's website. For non-emergency traffic concerns, individuals can contact the Traffic Engineering Division at 706-821-2300.
