5% of Columbia County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Columbia County recorded an unemployment rate of 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 3,914 people out of the 154,274 living in Columbia County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Columbia County has increased compared to the 4.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Columbia County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.5%.

Of the 74,466 people who had a job during that time, 3,408 were employed in the Armed Forces and 71,058 belonged to the civilian labor force.
