EISENHOWER ARMY MEDICAL CENTER: MHS Genesis Update - Appointment

Announcement

Eisenhower Army Medical Center issued the following announcement on May 25.

As our staff complete training in preparation for our new electronic health record, their availability to provide patient care is reduced.  Additionally, the annual Permanent Change of Station or PCS season is upon us.  There is traditionally a decrease in appointment availability during the summer months as we farewell some of our staff and integrate new staff members to the Eisenhower family.

Appointment availability will remain decreased for 30-60 days after our go-live date as our staff learn to integrate the new training and navigate the system.

As a readiness requirement, Active Duty personnel have priority for appointments.

Family members, retirees and all enrolled beneficiaries (other than active duty) may seek care at Urgent Care locations without the need for a referral.

Patients seeking specialty care at Eisenhower, but cannot be seen within 28 days, will receive a referral to the network.

Even with a network referral, patients may not be seen within 28 days because the network is also experiencing employee shortages.  Some providers may not accept new patients or may not have availability for several months.  But we will do all we can to accommodate you either at Eisenhower or in the network.

For our patients that utilize TRICARE online to book appointments, you may need to call our appointment line to access any available appointments.

Central Appointments, (706-787-7300) will serve as your one-stop contact for appointments, if available, or for assistance with authorized network care.

Please keep in mind that a referral is still needed for specialty care that’s been deferred to the network.

We appreciate your patience as we work to adopt our new electronic health record and continue to provide you with 5 star care.
