CITY OF AUGUSTA: City of Augusta offices closed in observance of Memorial Day

City of Augusta issued the following announcement on May 27. 

In observance of Memorial Day, City of Augusta offices will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2022. Below is a list of operating hours for key services during the holiday:

The Augusta Municipal Building 

The Augusta Municipal Building will be closed Memorial Day. The facility will reopen during normal business hours on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

Augusta 311 

The Augusta 311 Center will be closed on Memorial Day but will be open from 8:30am to 5pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022. 

Augusta Utilities 

All Augusta Utilities offices, including both customer service locations, will be closed Memorial Day. Offices will resume normal operating hours of 8:30am-5pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. If there is an emergency not related to billing, please call 706-842-3060.

Augusta Landfill

In observance of the Memorial Day weekend, the Augusta Landfill will be open from 6am to 12pm on Saturday, May 28, 2022, and 6am to 10am on Memorial Day. Furthermore, the facility will be open from 6am to 5pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022. 

Augusta Transit 

There will be no fixed route, demand response or rural transit services operated by Augusta Transit and Richmond Transit on Memorial Day.

Trash collection 

There will be no collection services for garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky waste on Memorial Day. Therefore, collection services will be delayed by one day. Residents should place their carts at the street curb one day after their normal day of service. 

Parks and Recreation Department 

The Administrative office, all community centers, the Augusta Aquatic Center, the Newman Tennis Center, athletic offices, the rental offices, and Henry H. Brigham Swim Center will be closed Memorial Day. However, all public parks will remain open from dawn to dusk.
