Of the 223 people living in Avera in 2020, 47.1 percent (105) were women and 52.9 percent (118) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the East Central Georgia News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 3. In the 65 and over age range, there were 10 females and nine males.
