Savannah-Chatham County Public School System issued the following announcement on Feb. 4.

Our featured Student of the Month for the month of January 2022 is Oran Ryan, a second grader at White Bluff Elementary. He is described as “an exemplary student…a leader at our school."

“Oran is the most loving child. He cares for everyone around him. He's always willing to help his classmates. He strives to make everyone happy. He greets every adult at school with a 'Hello' and 'Have a nice day.' He truly is a great candidate for Student of the Month," said Tara Wood, who nominated Oran for the honor. “

“Oran loves a challenge," Ms. Wood continued. “He works diligently to complete all tasks in school, and he is performing well above grade level in all academics. He has maintained High Honor Roll for two consecutive quarters."

In his free time, Oran visits the local library to check out books, plays badminton, and enjoys playing World of Cubes, a block building game. Oran says that one day, he wants to create art just like him mom.

Oran is taking home several gifts from our community partners.  He will receive a one-topping small pizza certificate donated by Donato's Pizza; a gift certificates for cupcakes from J's Sweet Creations, and his class will receive printed copies of his favorite book - Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol #9 Now Museum, Now You Don't  by Andres Miedosa - sponsored by E. Shaver Booksellers. Oran will take home a portrait by UpScale Photography provided by Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools and the portrait will hang in the gallery at the Central Office at 208 Bull Street.  Congratulations to Oran, his family, and the faculty and staff of White Bluff Elementary.
