Columbia County issued the following announcement on Jan. 8.
Temporary Road Closure on Point Comfort Rd
Columbia County Storm Water Department, wishes to inform the driving public of a temporary Road closure on Point Comfort Road. The temporary road closure will be at 893 Point Comfort Road to replace storm water utilities. The road closure will be from Monday, January 10, 2022, to Friday, January 21, 2022.
Through traffic will not be allowed on this section of Point Comfort Road. Detour Route will be will be posted. (Blackstone Camp Road, Furys Ferry Road, Evans to Locks Road and Old Stevens Creek Road.)
Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected. If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe.
