Lakeside Middle School issued the following announcement on Dec. 8.
The Columbia County School District is rolling out a new daily attendance notification system.
After a successful test at Grovetown High School, the daily attendance notification system will continue to roll out to all schools in the Columbia County School District in the coming weeks.
Notifications will be sent out at approximately 11:00 a.m., each day, using Shout Point, a calling feature of Infinite Campus, and will only be sent to parents of students who have missed at least one period in the day and will be marked absent. If a parent receives a call believed to be made in error, please do not respond to the message, instead, contact the school's main office. Otherwise, upon receiving the notification, no further action is required.
Parents will receive an email with more information prior to the launch at their respective schools.
