COUNTY OF COLUMBIA: Environment Matters Lunch and Learn

Businessluncheon

County of Columbia issued the following announcement on Nov. 30.

Environment Matters Brown Bag Lunch & Learn (Friday, December 10, 2021)

Columbia County Stormwater Department will host the next “Environment Matters” Lunch & Learn on Friday, December 10th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Columbia County Evans Auditorium located in Building A (630 Ronald Reagan Drive, Evans).

Margaret Alligood, Georgia Master Naturalist, will facilitate the meeting.

Tripp Williams, County Extension Agent for Columbia County, will be the main speaker.  Tripp has served in this capacity for the last nine year and brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of Agriculture and Natural Resources.  He will offer his knowledge and insight to answer your questions regarding how to implement best practices in maintaining your lawn and garden - in a way that is beneficial to our overall natural resources.  Utilizing best management practices in the maintenance of your lawn and gardens can play a big part in preventing pollution of our natural water resources. Bring your questions, concerns, samples, or pictures of your lawns and gardens.

The primary mission of the Stormwater Department is to educate the community about the direct connection between the stormwater systems and our natural water resources. We hold these informative meetings and workshops in the interest of citizen understanding and involvement.  We hope to see you at this next meeting.

This will be our last session for 2021; however, we are pleased to announce that we will offer another series of sessions and workshops in 2022. Stay tuned for specific dates and topics!

We wish you a Merry Christmas, and hope you can attend this educational meeting with your County Agent as we close out 2021!

As always, there is no cost to attend but registration is required. Seating is limited and will be spaced out comfortably.  The workshop is for adults only.

Please email Margaret Alligood to reserve your seat.
