COLUMBIA COUNTY: Give Thanks for our Watershed & Pick Up after your pet

Petsitter

Columbia County issued the following announcement on Nov. 24.

The average dog produces approximately ¾ pound of waste per day. According to the 2019 US Census there are approximately 47,000 households in Columbia County. If every household had a dog and didn’t clean up after them, that is a little over 12 million pounds of dog waste per year washing into our streams, stormwater systems, and directly impacting our watershed.
