AUGUSTA PREPARATORY DAY SCHOOL: Augusta Prep wins three fall region championships

Augusta Preparatory Day School issued the following announcement on Oct. 27. 

Augusta Prep added three more trophies to the shelf this fall. The Cavaliers have now won 158 region championships in the school's 60-year history.

Augusta Prep's volleyball team won a share of the region championship when it defeated Bethlehem Christian in four sets earlier this month. The Cavaliers then advanced to the GISA Class AA Final Four.

The boys and girls cross country teams each won a region title last week in Sandersville, Ga. In the girls competition, Augusta Prep was victorious with a score of 22. Sophomore Aine Trapp won the individual championship, while Ruby Dozier finished third, Beatty Joseph fourth and Ashley Loo fifth. Annabelle Claire Mwonya placed 14th, while Poorna Doppalapudi finished 18th.

In the boys event, Augusta Prep won with a score of 18. Junior Hayes Trapp brought home the boys title, while Ben Monnig finished runner-up. Jack Butler placed fifth, while Steven Joseph finished seventh, Hank Monnig eighth, JT Dong ninth, Thomas Lane Estes 16th, Seth Crowson 18th and Roy Gamble 21st.

The cross country teams will compete in the state championship meet in November.
