CITY OF AUGUSTA: Voting Options for the November 2, 2021 General Municipal and Special Election

City of Augusta issued the following announcement on Oct. 8. 

On November 2, 2021, voters in Richmond County will head to the polls to cast a vote in a General Municipal and Special Election for a referendum question as to whether or not to issue General Obligation Bonds for the New James Brown Arena Project. The City of Blythe will also be voting on Mayor and City Council. The City of Hephzibah with be voting on City Commissioners that are unopposed. 

Voters have many options for casting their ballot, including: 

Advance Voting: will begin Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in the Linda W. Beazley Community Room in the Municipal Building located at 535 Telfair Street ONLY. Voting hours and times are as follows:

 Tuesday, October 12, 2021 through Friday October 15, 2021 from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

 Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 Monday, October 18, 2021 through Friday, October 22, 2021 from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

 Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Starting Monday, October, 25, 2021 through Friday, October 29, 2021 voting will be available at the following locations from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM:

 Linda W. Beazley Community Room in the Municipal Building

 Henry Brigham Recreation Center

 Robert Howard Community Center at Diamond Lakes

 Warren Road Recreation Center

All voters voting in person during Advance Voting must provide ONE of the six acceptable forms of photo identification. Voting is not permitted on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Voting by Mail is in progress now. Interested persons must apply by submitting an application to the Board of Elections Office, 535 Telfair Street, Suite 500, Augusta, Georgia, 30901, by fax at 706-821-2814 or by email at richmondelections@augustaga.gov. Applications are available upon request or from our website at www.augustaga.gov/vote. Voters who cast an absentee ballot by mail do not have to provide a reason for voting by mail. The last day to request an absentee ballot is Friday, October 22, 2021. In order to be counted, voted mail in absentee ballots must be received by the Board of Elections Office no later than 7:00 PM on the date of the Election. There will also be a Drop Box available during Advance Voting hours in the Linda W. Beazley Community Room for your convenience.

Election Day Voting will be available from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM on November 2, 2021 and all polling locations in Richmond County will be open. Voters must report to their assigned precinct in order to vote on Election Day. All voters voting in person on Election Day must provide one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification prior to casting a ballot.
