Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 1.
The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its selection of a new Executive Vice President, Angie Martin. The Executive Vice President serves as a senior leader within the organization as its chief revenue development officer with areas of responsibility to include membership development, programs and events and the business unit of Masters Housing Bureau. Ms. Martin will manage a team of five in supporting 1,200 members across the region with their engagement and investment in the Chamber including the execution of over 40 events annually, implementation of organizational marketing strategies and delivering high quality hospitality accommodations services to the community through home rental for the annual Masters® Tournament, Peach Jam Basketball Tournament and IRONMAN competition.
Ms. Martin has most recently served as the President & CEO of the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce since 2015. As President, she was responsible for all aspects of managing the chamber including its operations and fiscal management, membership development, public policy, programs and events and reported to a 17-member board of directors. Prior to the chamber profession, Ms. Martin spent nearly 10 years in property management most notably with The Worthing Companies where she managed a portfolio of over 1,400 units and a staff of 30 people.
Ms. Martin is a graduate of the US Chamber’s Institute for Organizational Management at UGA and has a BA in Communication Arts from Georgia Southern University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and is a graduate of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development. Ms. Martin will be relocating to the Augusta area and start her position with the Augusta Metro Chamber at the beginning of November.
