Chatham County issued the following announcement on Sept. 2.
The Chatham County Board of Commissioners and Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalition are co-hosting community engagement opportunities to learn more about what’s important to people living in our community. The information will assist County leaders in prioritization of projects and allocation of resources.
Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalition (CGIC) was awarded a contract with Chatham County Board of Commissioners in 2014 to develop a community-wide plan known as the Chatham Community Blueprint. The Blueprint was created through intense community engagement and prioritization that included citizen input at all levels. In December 2015, the Blueprint was presented to the Board of Commissioners. The Blueprint integrated other concurrent planning processes from various partner organizations. Most importantly, the Blueprint aims to provide residents with an opportunity to be engaged and have a voice in their community.
As Chatham County considers allocation of American Rescue Plan Act (APRA) – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to local needs in our community, citizen input is solicited. Chatham County departments including Engineering and Public Safety will be represented to provide updates on projects specific to each district as well as an array of partners in regards to services and support for citizens. The conversation format will include opportunities for learning as well as active participation. The agenda will include a status report on progress and challenges regarding the recommendations of the Blueprint. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend at least one of the community conversations, so your voice is heard.
