City of Augusta issued the following announcement on July 30.
The 40 day clock associated with the No Activity for Two General Election Cycles (NGE) process has expired. All of the voters involved in the NGE process that were not updated during the 40 day period have been updated from Inactive status to Cancelled status. The NGE process removes voters from the voter registration rolls that are in an inactive status and have had no contact in two General elections. Voters that were cancelled during this process do not lose their ability to register to voter, however they would need to reregister to vote for any future elections if still eligible.
