Of the 2,949 people living in Sylvania in 2019, 53.9 percent (1,590) were women and 46.1 percent (1,359) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the East Central Georgia News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 837-to-829. In the 65 and over age range, there were 413 females and 230 males.
