Rick W. Allen, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Georgia’s 12th district since 2015, shared his thoughts on several issues through a series of tweets. Born in Augusta, Georgia in 1951 and an Auburn University graduate, Allen has been actively involved in legislative matters.

On March 11, 2025, Allen expressed his support for school choice by sharing personal insights about his family. He stated, “I have 14 beautiful grandchildren—each of them different with their own unique needs and abilities.” He emphasized that school choice empowers parents to select the best educational path for their children’s future success and thanked Rep. Kiley and the Education & Workforce Committee for holding a hearing on this matter.

Later that day, he tweeted about legislative progress supported by President Trump and House Republicans. Allen noted that “With President Trump’s support, @HouseGOP passed legislation today to keep the lights on in Washington while we continue our work to rein in wasteful spending…” He highlighted that the continuing resolution (CR) included no “poison pills,” gimmicks, or outrageous provisions.

On March 12, 2025, Allen remarked on economic developments by stating “More work to be done, but this is a positive sign for our economy and the cost of living.” His comment suggests optimism regarding recent economic indicators while acknowledging ongoing challenges.
