Lincoln County Middle School reported an enrollment of 185 white students for the 2024-25 school year, a 2.8% increase from the prior year, data from the Georgia Department of Education shows.
The data indicated total enrollment at Lincoln County Middle School stood at 285 students in the 2024-25 school year. White students accounted for 65% of the enrollment, remaining the school’s largest demographic group.
The middle school is part of Lincoln County School District, which has its central office in Lincolnton.
Among the district’s three schools, Lincoln County Elementary School had the most white students enrolled in 2024-25, totaling 357 students.
Georgia public schools enrolled more than 1.7 million students, according to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report. Most students attended elementary school, with 787,206 enrolled (45.9%), while 388,733 students were in middle school (22.7%) and 539,092 in high school (31.4%).
Chronic absenteeism has continued to challenge Georgia schools after the pandemic, as 20.7% of students missed 10% or more school days in 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education. To address this, GaDOE began a statewide initiative that includes a real-time attendance dashboard, increased public awareness efforts, and additional support for districts with greater need to improve attendance rates.
In 2025, Georgia legislators approved a bill modifying attendance laws to prohibit expulsions based solely on absenteeism. The legislation also requires expanded reporting and cooperation with programs that allow students to earn diplomas through alternative options.
By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, an improvement over the national average of 15:1.
