The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Georgia’s Medical Marijuana and Hemp Policies is scheduled to hold its fourth meeting on October 24, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will take place in room 406 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta.

The committee, chaired by State Representative Mark Newton (R-Augusta), is tasked with reviewing Georgia’s current laws, policies, and procedures regarding medical marijuana, cannabis-derived drugs, and hemp products. The group will compile a report with specific findings or legislative recommendations. The aim is to ensure patient and consumer safety, as well as provide regulatory clarity for physicians and distributors of these products.

The meeting will be attended by members of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Georgia’s Medical Marijuana and Hemp Policies. The session will also be available for live streaming.

Burns, a Republican, was elected to the Georgia State House in 2005 to represent the state’s 159th House District, replacing previous state representative Ray Holland.
