Columbia County issued the following announcement on Apr. 13.

Have you reserved your spot for the next Environment Matters Lunch & Learn?

Thursday, April 28th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Columbia County Evans Auditorium located in Building A (630 Ronald Reagan Drive, Evans).

Shelly Blackburn, Executive Director of Columbia County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), will be the main speaker and she will be bringing the Serene 18 Paddle Trail Partners!  You will hear the inside scoop on kayaking & canoeing 18 square miles of our beautiful local waters.  Once you are familiar with the Serene 18 Program you will want to share this fun program with your out-of-town friends & relatives.  Instead of going to see them, have them come to your gorgeous community for summer fun!

Recreational water quality is important for our area to thrive both in entertainment and business prosperity.  This is just one of the primary reasons that the mission of the Stormwater Department is to educate the community about the direct connection between the stormwater systems and our natural water resources. We can’t have the benefits of pristine water recreational areas without an effective stormwater management system.

As always, there is no cost to attend but registration is required. Seating is limited and will be spaced out comfortably.  The workshop is for adults only.

Please email Margaret Alligood (malligood@columbiacountyga.gov) to reserve your seat.
