Columbia County issued the following announcement on Mar. 9. 

Columbia County Board of Commissioners in conjunction with the Columbia County School District-Evans, Georgia will be holding a job fair for a variety of skilled-trade and professional positions Monday, March 21, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Columbia County Exhibition Center, located at 212 Partnership Drive, Grovetown, Georgia 30813.

Columbia County will have team members from Engineering Services, Fire Rescue, Fleet Services, Human Resources, Leisure Services, Library Services, Public Transit, Recreation, Road Construction, Stormwater Operations and Compliance, Technology Services, Traffic Engineering, Water Utility, and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office – Appling, GA will be on site to provide interested candidates an overview of available positions and answer any questions the candidate might have. 

The Columbia County School District will have staff members from the Department of Human Resources, Department of Transportation, Department of Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations, and Department of School Nutrition will be on hand to provide interested candidates an overview of the job description and answer any questions. 

Columbia County offers a new starting base pay of $15/hour, eleven paid holidays, remarkable retirement plan, employee medical clinic, education tuition reimbursement, free life insurance, onsite training, wellness program, and employee fitness center.
