City of Augusta  issued the following announcement on June 17. 

Augusta, Georgia offices will be closed Monday, June 20, 2022, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Below is a list of hours of operation for key government services on Monday, June 20:

Augusta Municipal Building

The Augusta Municipal Building will be closed. The facility will reopen during normal business hours on Tuesday, June 21.

Augusta 311 

The Augusta 311 Center will continue normal operating hours of 8:30am-5pm. 

Augusta Transit

There will be no fixed route, demand response or rural transit services operated by Augusta Transit and Richmond Transit. Normal operating hours will resume Tuesday, June 21.

Augusta Utilities

All Augusta Utilities offices, including both Customer Service locations, will be closed. Offices will resume normal operating hours of 8:30am-5pm on Tuesday, June 21. If there is an emergency not related to billing, please call 706-842-3060.

Augusta Landfill

The Augusta Landfill will be open from 6am to 5pm. 

Garbage Collection

Collection services for garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky waste will continue normal operating hours. 

Parks and Recreation Department 

The Administrative office, all community centers, the Augusta Aquatic Center, the Newman Tennis Center, athletic offices, the rental offices, the summer pools, the splash pad, and Henry H. Brigham Swim Center will be closed. However, all public parks will remain open from dawn to dusk. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, June 21.
