CITY OF AUGUSTA: Augusta to host free football clinic at May Park Community Center

City of Augusta issued the following announcement on June 9. 

The Augusta Parks & Recreation Department is partnering with Adrian Peterson, Director of Student Athlete Development at Georgia Southern University and former American Football running back, to offer a free football clinic at the May Park Community Center. The clinic consists of one-hour-lessons focusing on strength, conditioning, speed and agility, and will be held from Monday, June 13, 2022, through Thursday, June 16,2022, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Peterson, alumnus of Georgia Southern University, played eight seasons for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League, followed by playing in the United Football League for the Virginia Destroyers. Among many career highlights, Peterson became a two time NCAA Division I-AA National Champion and received the Walter Payton Award.

The clinic is for children from 3rd to 8th grade. Parents interested in registering their child for the clinic can learn more at www.adrianpeterson3.com. Space is limited to 50 participants.

The Parks & Recreation Department is excited to offer not only summer camps and a tennis camp, but also an opportunity for youth football development.
