Chatham County Public Works Responds to Sewage Spill

On October 12, 2022, Chatham County experienced sewer spills of raw sewage on Elizabeth Circle and Cardinal Road. An estimated 7000 gallons of raw sewage on Elizabeth Circle and 2500 gallons on Cardinal Road were discharged from manholes with some entering the Herb Creek. Signs were placed at both locations and lime placed on the affected areas.
