Cedar Ridge Elementary School enrolled 117 multiracial students for the 2024-25 school year, reflecting a 4.1% decrease from the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Total enrollment at Cedar Ridge Elementary School reached 1,068 students in 2024-25. Multiracial students accounted for 11% of the total student population, ranking as the second-smallest group present in the school.

The school, which is part of Columbia County Public Schools, is overseen by a central office in Evans.

Of the 30 schools included in Columbia County Public Schools, Grovetown High School reported the largest number of multiracial students in 2024-25, with 176 students enrolled.

Data from the National Center for Education Statistics showed Georgia public school students were about 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.

Chronic absenteeism has continued to pose significant challenges for Georgia schools since the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, according to GaDOE. Efforts by the agency now include a statewide real-time attendance dashboard, public awareness outreach, and targeted support to help high-need districts improve daily attendance rates.

In 2025, Georgia lawmakers updated school attendance laws, preventing expulsion solely for absenteeism and introducing new reporting requirements along with support for alternative diploma pathways.

As of 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, which is better than the national average of 15:1.
