Augusta Technical College issued the following announcement on Feb. 27. 

Augusta Technical College struck gold over the weekend at the State SkillsUSA Conference in Atlanta. The Cougars took gold in five competitions, while bringing home an additional two silver medals and three bronze medals. Gold medalists will return to Atlanta in June to compete in the SkillsUSA Nationals. Augusta Tech’s winning weekend continued as Emily Pinto and Justin Wade McClellan were elected as State Officers.

Congratulations to Augusta Tech’s SkillsUSA team. Way to go Cougars!

Gold Medals: Chris McIntosh and Dania Alawir (TV/Video Production); Justin Wade McClellan (Graphic Imaging Sublimation); Robert “Pete” Miller (Screen Printing); Emily Pinto (Ad Design); Andre Dessert and Andrea Wingo (Cybersecurity )

Silver Medals: Alexander Orlet (T-Shirt Design); Aide Morales (Barbering)

Bronze Medals: Faith Lyons (Pin Design); Margaret McCormack (Ad Design); George Laiacona (Aviation)

Newly Elected State Officers:  Emily Pinto and Wade McClellan
