Augusta schedules public forum for proposed QTS Data Center development

Augusta, Georgia officials will hold a public forum to discuss a proposed data center development by QTS Data Centers. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Belair Elementary School on Harper-Franklin Avenue.

The purpose of the forum is to provide information and gather feedback from residents about the project’s impact on land use, the environment, and local infrastructure. Representatives from QTS Data Centers, city planning staff, and members of the Augusta Commission will attend to answer questions.

According to city officials, “The public forum is being held to provide information and allow community members to ask questions.”

The proposed data center has already gone through formal review processes with presentations before the Augusta Planning Commission. It has received initial approvals needed for site work, which has started. Future phases of construction are still subject to additional reviews and permits.
