The City of Augusta has introduced a public dashboard to provide residents with information about local projects funded by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The new online tool aims to improve transparency and make government data more accessible for citizens.
The dashboard, available on the city’s website, offers details on community improvement and infrastructure projects supported by SPLOST funding. At launch, information is available for SPLOST 7 and SPLOST 8 initiatives. Updates related to the upcoming SPLOST 9 will be added as planning progresses.
Residents can access the dashboard by visiting www.AugustaGA.gov, navigating to “Government,” selecting “Augusta Projects and Initiatives,” and then choosing “SPLOST” from the dropdown menu. A direct link is also provided at www.AugustaGA.gov/1243/Special-Purpose-Local-Option-Sales-Tax-S.
SPLOST is a one-percent sales tax approved by voters that funds capital improvement projects throughout Augusta–Richmond County. The tax supports essential services such as transportation, public safety, recreation, and infrastructure enhancements.
“This dashboard is another step in our effort to make government more open and accessible,” said Augusta Administrator Tameka Allen. “It provides residents with a convenient way to see where SPLOST funds are being invested and how these projects contribute to the continued growth and improvement of our community.”
