Augusta, Georgia Office Closings For Veterans Day

In recognition of Veterans Day, most of Augusta, Georgia’s government offices will be closed Friday, November 11, 2022, for the holiday. Below is a list of operating hours for key services:

The Augusta Municipal Building

The Augusta Municipal Building will be closed Veterans Day. The facility will reopen during normal business hours on Monday, November 14, 2022.

Augusta 311 

The Augusta 311 Center will be open from 8:30am- 5pm on Veterans Day. 

Augusta Transit 

Fixed routes, demand response and rural transit services operated by Augusta Transit and Richmond Transit will continue normal operating hours on Veterans Day. 

Augusta Utilities

All Augusta Utilities offices, including both Customer Service locations, will be closed Veterans Day. Offices will resume normal operating hours of 8:30am-5pm on Monday, November 14, 2022. If there is an emergency not related to billing, please call 706-842-3060.

Augusta Landfill

The Augusta Landfill will continue normal operating hours on Veterans Day. 

Garbage collection 

There will be no delays in garbage collection services. Residents should place their cart at the street curb on their normal day of service.

Parks and Recreation Department

The Administrative office, all community centers, the Augusta Aquatic Center, the Newman Tennis Center, athletic offices, the rental offices, and Henry H. Brigham Swim Center will be closed Veterans Day. However, all public parks and tennis courts will remain open from dawn to dusk. Facilities will return to normal operating hours on Monday, November 14, 2022.
